Scarborough zero waste’s mission is to reduce waste. As event organizers, you have a key role in this regard. Nevertheless, most of the events organized in Ontario are managed by less than two persons. This makes a transition difficult.
We offer two programs to help you reduce waste at your event:
The "Mission Accomplished" Program is a program designed by Scarborough Zero Waste to help community groups leaders to empower and motivate their volunteers to take action and reduce waste. The program is made of videos, flyers, booklets and meetings so the "sustainable team" within the community group feels useful and equipped to support its own team in its transition to sustainability.
The "Waste Reduction" Program has been designed by Scarborough Zero Waste to help community group reduce the waste they produce at various events. The program highlight various events that have put best practices in place and made difference. This program tackles all aspect of an event organization: from the communication to the waste management as well as the culture needed to motive the staff or volunteers as well at the procurement practices...
