"There were times when it was hard to do simple tasks such as sitting up or sleeping through the night."

Thankfully, interns Josie Barcley and Thomas Chaddock remained healthy throughout the pandemic.
How the Project Began
Insert small blurb and recorded Zoom video
This idea for the project was thought up by Dr. Philip Payne, the chair of the St. Bonaventure University History Department. Dr. Payne initially tasked Josie Barcley, Kurt Stitzel, and Alex Jodush to begin this project as students taking Archival and Digital History in the Spring of 2019. In the Fall of 2020, the trio continued work on this project as student interns at the St. Bonaventure University Archives. Once their internship had concluded, Jackson West and Thomas Chaddock picked up where they had left off and have brought the project up to its current state. (NOT DONE)
How We Got Involved
Thomas Chaddock
I learned about this project from Alex Jodush during the History Club's trip to Mt. Irenaeus in the fall of 2020. We were there volunteering. He had mentioned that he had a new internship lined up for the Spring 2021 semester and could no longer continue with the project. I quickly jumped at the opportunity to take his place. Shortly thereafter, Alex, Kurt, and Josie invited me to attend a Zoom meeting with Dr. Phil Payne and Dennis Frank. During that meeting, it was decided I would be the new student intern to continue and hopefully finish the Pandemic Project.

I learned about this project through Dr. Phillip Payne. Since I was student teaching during the Fall of 2020, I was unable to take one of the classes I needed to graduate. The class was not offered during the Spring 2021 semester, so I reached out to Dr. Payne for assistance. In order to get credit for the class, Dr. Payne suggested I work on this project to get the necessary hours needed to fulfill the class requirement. After discussing the project and what I would need to do in order to graduate on time, it was decided I would be an intern for this project. I was then put in touch with Dennis Frank and together we figured out a schedule that would work best for me. I was happy to be an intern because I was able to contribute to something that will help educate future generations on a monumental historical event.
