Stacey earned her M.Ed. in Visual Disabilities from Vanderbilt University and has dedicated 15 years to serving as an Itinerant Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments in Texas. She is the co-author of Sensing and Learning with Millie Smith and the author of Tools for TVIs: The Itinerant Teacher’s Handbook.  

In her keynote presentation, Stacey will introduce three cornerstones for TSVI practice designed to boost efficiency and maximize meaningful impact on a diverse, multi-faceted caseload. Participants will walk away with actionable strategies they can implement immediately to support students, families, and teams. 

Dr. Casias is an Associate Professor in the Orientation and Mobility Program at Cal State LA. He is a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist with a doctorate in Educational Leadership. He brings extensive K-12 experience, serves as Board President of the Southern California Association of Orientation and Mobility Specialists, and has supervised O&M candidates at Portland State University and Cal State LA. 

In his keynote, he will share literature highlighting the need for paraprofessional in-service training and introduce a study that produced a practical framework for designing such training. This framework offers a clear template to guide participants’ training work. By the end, participants will be empowered with the tools needed to develop their own in-service training framework tailored to their specific settings.
