2024 sbp history day competition results!

NHD-CA STATE COMPETITION

This year's state competition will take place from April 19-21, 2024 at Sacramento State University.

• Junior Division Preliminary Interviews will be held on Friday.

• Senior & Elementary Division Interviews will be held of Saturday.

• Elementary Awards will take place Saturday at 3:00 PM

• Jr/Sr Awards will take place Sunday morning.

TEACHER REGISTRATION FOR NHD-CA

• All teachers must register, whether or not they are attending

• All project entries MUST have a registered teacher associated with the entry

• Registration deadline March 20th, 2024

Teachers Attending NHD-CA

• Teachers are not required to attend.

• Only those teachers who indicate attendance and submit payment will receive a name badge, t-shirt, and printed program.

• Cost to attend: $30.00/teacher.

STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR NHD-CA

Please communicate with parents/guardians/caregivers this registration information.

• All students associated with a project must register for the contest.

• At least one member of group entries must be at the interview.

• All students with individual entries must be at the interview.

• If you have a student who is not able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.

• Registration deadline is March 20. Late registration March 21 - 24 ($25 late fee).

STATE COMPETITION PAYMENT

Please communicate with students about payment to let them know if the school/district will cover their $105 registration fee, or if they will need to pay. If the school/district/or some other agency is paying, please complete the Agency Payment form located at: https://www.nhdca.org/nhd-ca-state-finals/teacherreg/

HOTELS

NHD-CA has reserved some hotel blocks at 4 different hotels. Please encourage families to book soon. The link to access the hotel blocks can be found on the state contest page.

STATE COMPETITION INFORMATION

REGISTRATION DIRECTIONS for 2024:

There are three parts to registration:

1. Teacher Spreadsheet: Fill out the google sheets information for your school. (may be done by a parent or other adult for students who are homeschooled or at schools where there are no other participants). PLEASE only send this spreadsheet in when it is complete. Share it with SBPhistoryday@gmail.com and note in the email that it is finished. Do not update the spreadsheet after you have submitted it. If you need to make changes, please email SBPhistoryday@gmail.com Due Feb. 9

• Google Doc Version (do not edit after you have submitted)

• Excel version

2. Student Registration: Each student and their parents must complete this form. We would like this form at the same time as the teacher form, but we will accept student registration forms through February 12.

3. Payment: Invoices will be sent after the spreadsheet has been submitted. Payment is due on March 1.

Projects and/or paperwork must be submitted by midnight PST on February 26, 2024
