The AVID Club consists of all AVID students and is run by the program’s elected officers. The club does fundraising, plans college visits and career events for the AVID program. The purpose of the events planned by the club is to help AVID students start planning for college and their future careers.

The San Benito High School AVID club is an organization made up by the students who are in the AVID classes.
The club's purpose is to get all the students involved and bring everyone together. We organize various community service opportunities throughout the year, and many student events. We want to make sure to give back to our community, as well as to all of our hard-working students.
We welcome all SBHS students to join our club every other Thursday at 12 PM.

Due to COVID and our new distance learning format, our BLT tradition will look different this year.
This year, we would like to invite all our SBHS AVID family and friends to order dinner from La Catrina Mexican Grill on December 2, 2020. All the proceeds will go towards a college fund for our AVID students at San Benito High School.
Do not forget, share this flyer to your waitress for a part of your purchase to be donated to the AVID college fund.

AVID 10 Community Service
This winter our AVID 10 representative organized their annual community service project for their cohort.
They have partnered with Chamberlin Youth Services by organizing a Holiday Toy Drive.
The AVID 10 toy drive will be November 16th-December 11.
All items can be dropped off in front of the main office. All gifts must be unwrapped.

We would like to send a huge thank you to all those donated to our AVID Back to School Supply Drive. We were able to provide over 60 boxes full of supplies, lunch snacks, and encouraging notes to students all over Hollister.
This supply drive is not over and we enjoyed helping students through distance learning that we would like to continue the help all year long.
If you know of a student that needs school supplies, contact balderasherrera@sbhsd.k12.ca.us for the drop off location.

For the month of October we decided Anabel Yerena would be our first AVID Member of the Month because of her help with the Halloween Car Decoration for Homecoming. She donated a lot and it helped bring everything together.

Our 2020-2021 AVID t-shirt has been finalized. Our AVID club worked hard together in creating a design that would be liked by all. We hope you enjoy it and wear your t-shirt around town with pride.
We now need your help to get the correct t-shirt count. Fill out the google form by November 19th to guarantee your size.
