Transportation

From the Airport

To get from the International Airport Antônio Carlos Jobim (aka Galeão) or the Domestic Airport Santos Dumont to your hotel, we recommend that you use a car app (Uber or 99), as this allows you to pay with your credit card. All you need to do in this case is to type in the name of your hotel (the address being automatically displayed on your phone screen). The International Airport’s Uber or 99 waiting area is located on the second floor. Upon arrival take the elevator from the ground floor to the second floor and wait for your Uber or 99 car in the section displayed on your phone screen past the exit door. The Santos Dumont’s Uber waiting area is located in the Bossa Nova Mall (past the arrival area).

Alternatively, you can take a yellow cab on the ground floor past the exit door in Galeão or Santos Dumont. Do not take a cab offered by people trying to hook you in the arrival area, as you will end up paying much more!

To PUC-Rio

PUC-Rio is located in the southern part of the city of Rio de Janeiro in a neighbourhood called Gávea and can be reached in many ways. PUC-Rio’s address is Rua Marquês de São Vicente, 225. Gávea. Rio de Janeiro, RJ – 22451-900.

Subway

The name of the closest station is Antero de Quental. To get from Antero de Quental to PUC-Rio take a (blue) bus called Metrô na Superficie using a Rio Metro Card. PUC-Rio is the last stop.

From Largo do Machado, Flamengo, Botafogo or one of the three Copacabana stations (named Cardeal Arcoverde, Siqueira Campos, Cantagalo), Antero de Quental can be easily reached taking subway line 1 towards Jardim Oceânico.

The ticket price is R$ 6,50. A Rio Metro Card can be bought in any station, and value can be added using your credit card.

Uber or 99

This is easy and fairly cheap. All you need to do is to type in the name PUC-Rio (the address being automatically displayed on your phone screen) and sit in the back seat.
