In Alzheimer’s disease, G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) are involved in phosphorylation of Tau through various down-stream kinases such as GSK-3β and ERKs. We are interested to know the signalling cascades involved in Tau phosphorylation. We are keen to know the direct interaction of Tau with microglial GPCRs such as purinergic P2Y12 receptor and chemokine CX3CR1 receptors that help these phagocytic cells in Tau clearance in AD brain. In addition, we study several mechanisms of Tau intake by microglia such as endocytosis and LC-3 associated phagocytosis.
My other interests include gymming, adventure travels and sight seeing.

Dietary fatty acids have major influence on brain specially omega-3 fatty acids. They have ability to change the functionalities of brain cells majorly microglia cells. In this study we try to check the effect of omega -3 fatty acids on microglial phenotype. The fatty acids would convert microglia cells towards M2 phagocytic microglia, in this study we would like to check the markers , expression profile of M2 microglia and its role in reducing Tau propagation in Alzheimer’s disease.
Other than science my interests are travelling, trekking, reading.

Histone Deacetylase 6 is a unique HDAC in that it performs numerous cytoplasmic functions. It interacts with many different molecules in the cell and its entire potential hasn't been fully tapped into. From the preliminary studies in the lab, HDAC6 has been observed to modulate the aggregation properties of Tau protein. Our interest lies in understanding the mechanism of these modulation effects in-vitro as well as within neurons.
Reading, music and travelling are among my other interests.
