Music box songs

As an ABDL, one of the song types that I mostly listen to is the music box, since it really puts the 'little' in my little space. No, no, not those boring old royalty-free ones (e.g. Brahms's Lullaby, Schlaf Kindlein Schlaf, etc.) that play the same 15-second (yes, I actually timed it using a stopwatch 😆) tune way too often, are sold in stores just as often, and can make me feel really anxious (and even tear up and cry) for some reason!

I'm talking about either hand-made music box songs on the 30-note D.I.Y. models (or just the Music Box Composer application combined with Bandicam 😜), or digitalised ones from R3 Music Box, or Midi sequences that I opened in GarageBand on the iMac at my day program and of which I subsequently changed all of the instruments to the music box.

Back in 2017, when this website wasn't up yet and I was still exploring my littlespace, it started with this Tumblr page where I found music box renditions of several songs from the Mother/EarthBound series. Upon being able to download a few from there, I discovered the website solmire.com (which, unfortunately, no longer exists nowadays), from which one could change the instruments of Midi sequences and also convert them to .mp3 files later on, which I swiftly started doing with several Midi sequences of Mother/EarthBound series songs.

Back in 2020, GarageBand on MacOS got an update that featured a new instrument, the music box. Since GarageBand can also open Midi sequences, I swiftly started experimenting with some of my favourite songs there, and they sounded so much more realistic than the ones I converted via solmire.com, and I was absolutely pleased about that! This is still one of my go-to things to do when R3 Music Box, a YouTube channel that specialises in music box renditions of several songs, doesn't have a music box rendition of any of my favourite songs just yet, even if it doesn't happen that often anymore lately. Oh well. 😆

If you want to listen to the music box covers that I've 'made' on GarageBand, click here. I personally think they sound a lot better than those that I've converted via solmire.com combined with websites with Midi sequences for download. 😂

If you want to see my playlist of my favourite music box covers from R3 Music Box, click here. Please feel free to save it, if you'd like. Maybe you're going to discover one of your favourite songs in that list, or a favourite of yours is already in there? It has music box renditions of songs of many video games and game franchises: from the Mother/EarthBound series to The Legend Of Zelda, from the Mario series to Pokémon, and even indie games, from The Henry Stickmin Collection to Hollow Knight. The possibilities are almost endless, in any case. 🤭
