Modifying a baby dummy 101

On this page, I'm giving a tutorial based on this one, which regards the modification from a baby dummy/pacifier to an adult-sized one. Per step, clear pictures are shown.

You'll need:

Step 1:

Boil the dummy. In case you're using the microwave, use the case in which the dummy came, fill it with water until near the rim, and microwave it for 3 minutes. In case you're using the stove and the saucepan, fill the saucepan with water until near the rim, put the dummy into it, and boil it like most of the 'regular parents' do. (Ask Google or any other search engine for more information on this. πŸ˜›)

After the boiling, carefully (it's scorching hot!) put the dummy onto anything in the way of a (tea) towel or burp cloth, dab it dry, and squeeze some (sterile!) excess water out of it.

Step 2:

Take a pair of scissors (its closed tip, to be exact), or a medium-sized flat head screwdriver, and carefully remove the knob from the dummy with it. Small details of damage guaranteed. Subsequently, push the teat into the dummy, grab its back from where the knob has been, and remove it by pulling it out. What you'll be doing with the original teat up next is completely up to you. Maybe you could use it as a cover for improvised garden lights? 😜

Step 3:

Now is when you put the bigger and desired teat into the dummy. You do this by putting the small, hollow end of it into the inside of the shield (as pictured on the photo of the 2nd step), until it's been inserted in there successfully. Subsequently, you click the knob (preferably in sync with how the teat is posed, unless it's rounded, which doesn't occur too often) back onto the dummy's shield, and...

Ta-daaah! There we have it! A modified baby dummy in your size. Doesn't look too shabby, huh? πŸ™‚
