Write in any language. Please include your device model, iOS version and the app version (Settings → About Sayglide).
Getting started
Open a script and tap the play button. The script scrolls at the pace shown in the transport bar; tap anywhere to pause, tap again to keep rolling, and move two fingers up or down to change the pace without stopping. Pinch to change the text size, or tap Aa in the top bar.
Tap the microphone chip to let the script follow your voice. It moves as you speak, waits when you stop, and catches up when you skip ahead or go back. Tap a line to re-sync at any time.
Common questions
The band is behind my voice by a second or two.
That is the time your device needs to recognise the words. It is shortest in the languages with Apple's newest speech models (English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese) and a little longer in the others. The band moves on the second word of a new place, so a single word on its own will not move it; tap the line instead.
Voice follow is not available for my language.
Sayglide uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and supports the languages your device supports. On the first use, iOS may need to download the language model: open Settings → General → Keyboard → Dictation on your device, make sure your language is added, then turn the microphone on again in Sayglide.
The captions in my video do not match what I said.
Captions are built from the words the recogniser heard. Lines that match your script keep the script's spelling; what you said off the script is included too and marked for you to check. A line you skipped is left out. Before the captions are burned in you can correct any line and choose their size, position, background and colour. For the best result, speak at a steady pace, keep the microphone unobstructed, and keep background music off while recording.
How do I mirror the text for a glass rig?
Tap the mirror button in the transport bar, or hold Aa for all settings, where you can mirror horizontally and vertically.
How do I control the prompter from another device?
On the device showing the script, open the prompter settings (hold Aa) and turn on Remote control. On the second iPhone or iPad, open Sayglide → Settings → Control another iPhone or iPad, and tap the prompter when it appears. Both devices need the same Wi‑Fi network, or Bluetooth on.
Markers.
Write [pause] for a two-second hold, [slow] / [fast] / [normal] to change the pace, and start a line with ## to make a section you can jump to.
How do I import a script?
Library → + → Import file… (TXT, RTF, Markdown), or paste from the clipboard.
Subscriptions and purchases
What does Pro include?
Recordings without the Sayglide mark, and captions. Everything else, including voice follow, mirroring, recording and remote control, is free.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or it renews. Cancelling during the free trial keeps access until the trial ends.
I paid but the mark is still there.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. If it still does not unlock, email us with the date of purchase.
I want a refund.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Bug reports
The most useful report includes: what you did, what happened, what you expected, your device model, iOS version, the app version, and the language of the script. A screen recording helps.
