Samantha Ayers-Glassey
PhD Candidate, Cognitive Neuroscience
Department of Psychology, University of Waterloo, Canada
I am a 4th-year PhD Candidate in the Psychology department of the University of Waterloo, working under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Smilek in the Vision and Attention Lab. My doctoral studies are currently supported by the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS). The first 3 years of my PhD were funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Doctoral Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-D), for which I was ranked in the top 5% of Psychology applicants.
I hold a Master's degree (MA) in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Waterloo and an Honour's Bachelor of Science (BSc-Hon) in Psychology with a Certificate in Psychology Research Methods from Cape Breton University.
My research broadly investigates three key areas: (i) the association between attention and memory, (ii) the association between attention and affect, and (iii) the relations between behavioural, subjective, and psychophysiological experiences of attention.
Outside of academia, I enjoy camping, gardening, and open-water swimming!
