Bio

Music Technologist • Composer | Sound Designer | Creative Coder | Performer

Savino Go is a composer, sound designer, computer programmer, and performer who aims to create works that allow his audience to share his compositional authority. In addition to many of his fixed media works that have been played for audiences in Oberlin Ohio and his hometown of Kansas City Missouri, Savino has recently begun to develop a performance practice. Most recently, his interactive work Etude for an Internet of People debuted in the TIMARA TECH 204 Final Concert in the Birenbaum. Many of his other performances utilize a max patch he developed that allows a user control of two monophonic granulators with an Xbox controller. Alongside his gig work in sound design for the KC based Stage Right Performing Arts theater company and AV technician work for the KC based MJH Media Group, Savino also completed his song length commission for Mark Rexroat, founder of the Blue Poodle Studio in the Summer of 2023. Savino's first electronic compositions were played back for the students of Dr. Michael Miller at the UMKC Composition Workshop in the Summers of 2019 and 2020.

Savino is currently in his third year of study as an undergraduate both in the Oberlin Conservatory and College. His education in electronic music has also come from five years of tutelage under Dr. Michael Miller who currently teaches at UMKC, the aforementioned UMKC composition workshop, and the SPLICE Institute in 2021.

In addition to his work in Oberlin conservatory’s TIMARA department, Savino is also currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science which he leverages musically through his work with Max/MSP and web app development.

For devotes of the Clifton Strengths Test, Savino’s top five strengths are: Learner, Individualization, Intellection, Empathy, and Relator.
