Grades 10-12 (Semester) Syllabus
Prerequisite: Completion of at least 2 E-Tech class or instructor consent
This is a semester course where students can choose to be on the supermileage team or focus on architectural design.
Supermileage: During this course the students will use teamwork and ingenuity to modify, design, and fabricate a high mileage vehicle that will compete in the spring at BIR (Brainerd International Raceway). Some of the units covered in this course will include: small gas engines, mechanical power, energy conservation, aerodynamics, and metals fabrication. This is a student driven class where you get to engineer, design, and fabricate competitive vehicles. There is a fee to attend the field trip.
CAD and Architectural Design: This is a semester long exploratory course designed for ANY student seeking introductory experience in Architectural design. Students will learn the basics of hand drafting, cad, and design fundamentals used by architects. Students will complete a long term group project to design and draw up plans for a new high school with an unlimited budget.
