Dear Friend of Cashiers,

As you may be aware, Cashiers Village II, LLC has applied to the Cashiers Community Planning Council for a Special Use Permit to construct a high-density development on 55 acres of land at the Crossroads in downtown Cashiers to include 914 apartments, condominiums, and townhouses (approx 14.5 dwelling units per acre), 160K+ SF of retail, commercial, and hotels, and 1,473 parking spaces (Ingles Plaza has 275) in 3 and 4 story attached structures.

As Cashiers residents we are concerned that this proposed development will obliterate the existing forest and have significant impacts on water, sewer, traffic, erosion, sedimentation of the Chattooga River, and threaten the unique character of Cashiers that attracted us here.

The Chattooga Conservancy, Gana Sita Property Owners Association and homeowners abutting the development have come together and retained the legal services of John Noor to present the case for conscientious development and hold the developer to the standards outlined in the Jackson County Code Provisions for Special Use Permit. We were granted a continuance at a Nov 16th hearing to Jan 6th at 9am to give our attorney time to gather expert witness testimony and prepare our defense.
