The flu shot is always important, but especially in 2020!

The flu shot is recommended for everyone over 6 months of age. It is SAFE. It is important this year more than ever with the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.

Some people say the flu shot gives them the flu. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE. The flu *can* give you flu-like SYMPTOMS. This includes a sore arm, body aches, and a low grade fever. At maximum, it lasts 24 hours. I typically get these symptoms. It’s not so bad. You know what those symptoms mean? That your body is making a good immune response. It’s like being sore after a workout - you know your body is getting stronger!

Getting the flu shot is more important this year than ever. We have one pandemic happening! We need to minimize burden on our health care workers who are working SO HARD to keep us healthy right now. Plus, the flu and COVID19 have overlapping symptoms. Getting the flu vaccine will help identify symptoms accurately if you develop them.
