ASCA - Assess: Mindfulness Group Intvervention for Stress Reduction
As part of my graduate work at UNC, I participated in a research group looking at the impact of school-based mindfulness interventions as a way to reduce students' experience of stress and anxiety. My research analyzed student responses regarding their experience of stress before and after a three-week mindfulness group. Post-test results revealed a significant (p=.002) reduction in students' experience of stress. My entire research paper is linked below, as well as my outline for the three-week group. The intervention was very well received by the student participants, who asked for the group to continue meeting through the remainder of the school year, which I'm happy to continue facilitating.
