About us:
Our story
In 1996 we started raising Bobwhite Quail as a hobby. We purchased 20 hens and 5 roosters and started hatching chicks in a Styrofoam incubator. After learning the do's and don't on hatching and raising quail. By 1997 we had over 500 birds in pens wondering what to do with them, way more birds than I needed for my hobby of weekend hunting with my dog. So we ran a add in a state wide advertising paper "Adult Bobwhite Quail and eggs for sale". That add done it! We bought commercial incubators built a laying house, brooding house and flight pens. by year 2000 we were shipping over 10,000 quail eggs monthly all across the U.S. even had a costumer in Alaska we shipped to. This was still a side housel to us. I worked a 40+ hour a week job also. In 2002 we added the hunting preserve and with lots of praying I quit my job and worked full time quail farming and guiding quail hunts. My prayers were answered with a phone call from a man named Jim, he said him and his partner had a new TV show starting up with hunting and fishing outfitters. I ask what will it cost me, Nothing just take us hunting and let us film it and you will be a sponsor. So Redneck Adventures filmed 6 seasons with us. and that opened the gates of business for the hunting preserve. We had a good run with it, but in 2010 after the BP oil spill we lost a lot of our customers due to job losses in the oil field and money being tight. We sold the hunting preserve and stepped the quail raising back down to a hobby and went back to a regular job. In 2023 we started stepping quail farming back up along with the Cajun Spiced Pickled Quail Eggs that my father started in 1998. Jumbo Brown Coturnix Meat Quail, Bobwhite Quail and Fresh Chicken Eggs. also have a self serv Farm Stand stocked with Fresh Vegetables grown in season on the farm and freshly gathered brown eggs.
