Saturn’s Enigma is now Open on Square!
Welcome to the first tutorial I ever created! This juicebox drawing tutorial as a request from some students I worked with. I have taught this in front of a group and it went so well and the students loved it so much, I decided to write it down so it can be accessible to others too! It was the inspiration for me to continue making more tutorials like this one. I hope you enjoy drawing and getting creative just as much as the students and I did!
Materials Needed:
a pencil
a piece of paper
an eraser
a ruler (optional but recommended!)
something to color with
Super easy start! You want your up-down lines (or vertical lines) to be a little bit longer than your sideways (or horizonal) lines. For straight lines, use your ruler!
Your second box will overlap with your first box and that is okay. It's going to create something cool later. Make sure your second box is the same size as your first box!
Let's make our two boxes friends! Draw a line from the corner of one box to the corner closest on the second box. Do this for all four corners. This will create our cube for our juicebox!
Starting at the top of your cube at the corners, draw two lines on each side at an angle, to form a triangle. on each side. Remember you are doing this 2 times, one for each side of the cube!
Starting at the top of your triangles draw a line connecting them, then continue by drawing 2 short vertical lines and another horizonal line to create a rectangle.
To make our juicebox look more 3-D, we have to erase some of our lines. Go ahead and erase the following lines from your juicebox, just like how the picture shows! Optional: you can make the corners less sharp and pointy by erasing them and making them round. See the next step for an example!
TA-DAH! You drew a juicebox! I knew you could do it!
This is just an outline, it is now your moment to get creative and add more! Will it be a milk carton? Or a ailen juicebox drink? It's your choice! I made mine into jelly juiceboxes, check them out below or in my art gallery!
Thanks for trying out my tutorial! I hope you had fun learning to draw with me. Check out my other tutorials too if you want to keep going! Click here for a PDF version of my tutorial. It is free, printable, and in color!
