How did it fail? We didn't get the pre-seed funding required to build the product as a part of a challenge
Dealt with challenges of online collabration on hardware projects, difference of opinions with teammates, and huge paperwork requirements, all while being in the toughest semester of our course.
Major Learnings: Team management, conflict resolution, systematic time and resource utilization, product development cycle, making a viable business plan
Something good out of it: Later offered pre-seed funding from the college incubation cell, but declined due to varied interests of team-members.
Finding no clubs/societies related to "startups" in our college, three of us in our freshman year decided to take matters in our own hand and build one. Organized various activities like Elevator Pitches, Case study competitions, brainstorming sessions to solve various campus problems, etc. Built dummy startups to understand different business models.
How it failed? We couldn't create the next batch of leaders to sustain this club, hence activities decreased as the three of us got busy with our own adventures.
Dealt with challenges of convincing people to join this new club, managing competetions and activities with very limited resources, time conflicts with other activities.
Major Learnings: Ecosystem development, how to convince people, managing in low monetory resources
Something good out of it: Inspired by the activities by our club, 4 student startups have come up in our college. The recently created incubation cell also recognized our efforts for trying to build a startup ecosystem.
