Video Compressor is a video and audio editing utility that allows you to compress, trim, resize, convert, mute, and extract audio from video files. All video and audio processing happens entirely on your device — your media files are never uploaded to any server, and we do not have access to the content of your videos or audios.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not require you to create an account, register, or log in.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

We do not upload, transmit, or store the content of your video or audio files on any server. All processing is performed locally on your device using an on-device processing engine.

We do not access your photos, images, or existing audio library.

3. Information We Do Collect

a) Usage & Diagnostic Data (via Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used, so we can improve it. This includes:

Which tools you open and use (Compress, Trim, Resize, Convert, Mute, Video to Audio)

Technical metadata about the files you process, such as file size, resolution, duration, format, and compression settings (e.g., codec, quality level) — not the content of the files themselves

Whether a task completed successfully or failed, and a general category of error if it failed (e.g., unsupported format, insufficient storage)

General app interaction events, such as sharing a processed file or interacting with our rating prompt

Your selected app settings, such as theme (light/dark) and app language

Standard device and app analytics data automatically collected by Firebase (such as device model, operating system version, and general usage engagement)

b) Crash & Diagnostic Reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)

If the App crashes or encounters an error, we use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect a crash report to help us fix bugs. This may include:

Device model, operating system version, and app version

A technical stack trace of the error

Contextual technical information such as which tool was in use, the resolution/size of the file being processed, and the codec/mode selected at the time of the crash

This data is used solely for diagnosing and fixing technical issues and does not include the content of your media files.

c) Advertising Data (via Google AdMob)

This App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, including banner and interstitial ads. Google AdMob may collect and use data — such as your advertising identifier and general device information — to serve ads, including personalized ads based on your interests, in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.

Some additional storage-related permissions are requested only on older Android versions (Android 12 and below) to provide the same file-selection functionality using legacy Android storage APIs, and to save your processed files to your device on very old Android versions where modern storage APIs are unavailable.

5. Where Your Processed Files Are Stored

Files you process with this App are saved directly to your device's shared storage, in standard folders accessible through your device's Gallery, Photos app, or file manager (for example, under Movies, Music, or Pictures folders, in an app-specific subfolder). These files remain on your device and are accessible even if you later uninstall the App.

Temporary working files created during processing are stored in a private, app-only cache folder and are automatically deleted once processing is complete or if it fails.

6. Data Retention

Processed video/audio files: Remain on your device's shared storage even after uninstalling the App, since they are saved to standard system folders like any other media file.

App settings, processing history, and temporary cache: Automatically deleted from your device when you uninstall the App.

Analytics and crash data: Retained by Firebase (Google) according to Google's standard data retention policies. We do not maintain a separate copy of this data ourselves.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
