Image Compressor & Resize Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Image Compressor ("the App", "we", "us"), developed by SA Studios, handles information when you use the App. The App provides image compression, cropping, resizing, and format conversion tools.

In short: Image Compressor processes your photos entirely on your device. Your images are never uploaded to any server or cloud service. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.

1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact list

- Account credentials or passwords (the App does not require sign-in)

- The actual content of your photos or files — these are never uploaded anywhere

- Precise (GPS) location data

2. HOW YOUR IMAGES ARE HANDLED

All compression, resizing, cropping, and format conversion happens entirely on your device, using local processing. No image or file you select is ever uploaded to a server or transmitted over the internet.

- You select photos using Android's built-in Photo Picker, or by choosing a folder using the system's Storage Access Framework. Both give the App temporary, user-granted access only to the specific files you choose.

- While processing, the App creates temporary working files inside its own private app storage. These are not accessible to other apps.

- When you choose "Save to Gallery," the processed file is copied to your device's public Pictures or Downloads folder using Android's Scoped Storage system.

- You can delete your processing history at any time from within the App, or remove all App data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it from Android Settings.

3. PERMISSIONS WE USE

- Internet (all devices): Used to display ads, send anonymous crash/diagnostic reports, and for links that open the Play Store or your email app.

- Read Images / Media Images (Android 13+): Allows reading images you've selected via the Photo Picker. On supported devices, the Photo Picker itself does not require this permission to be granted.

- Read External Storage (Android 12 and below): Used on older Android versions to read images you select for processing.

- Write External Storage (Android 9 and below): Used only on older Android versions to save processed images to your device's gallery. Not used on Android 10 and above, where the App uses Android's Scoped Storage system instead.

4. ANALYTICS AND CRASH REPORTING

We use Google Firebase services to understand how the App is used and to catch and fix crashes:

- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage data such as which features are opened or completed (e.g. compression, resize, crop, convert), session length, device model, and approximate country/region. This data is not linked to your identity and contains no personal information.

- Firebase Crashlytics — automatically collects crash reports and device diagnostic information (such as available memory or device orientation at the time of a crash) to help us fix bugs. These reports are anonymous.

5. ADVERTISING

The App displays banner advertisements using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and general interaction data, in accordance with Google's own advertising and privacy policies.

6. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

The App stores the following data locally on your device only — none of it leaves your device or is sent to us:

- Processing history — timestamps, file names, original/compressed file sizes, and formats, so you can view your recent activity within the App.

- App preferences — theme (light/dark), default compression level, default output format, and language selection.

- Rating prompt status — whether you've already been shown or dismissed the in-app rating dialog.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

- Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

- Google Play Services

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Image Compressor is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

9. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Since the App does not operate a backend server or account system, there is no personal data stored on our servers to delete. All data (history, settings, cached files) resides only on your device and is fully removed when you clear the App's storage or uninstall it.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
