The Scream
A man screams, in agony.
His eyesight blurry.
A man screams, in happiness.
Those walking behind him stare.
A man screams, in horror.
The boats float on the calm rivers.
A man screams, in shock.
The bridge he stands on seems to shake beneath his feet.
A man screams, in pain.
His body feels wavy to him, like his spine was but a worm.
A man screams, in ignorance of those around him.
The boats hear the scream, the horns on the boat jealous.
A man screams, wishing he could stop himself.
The sky looks red, like the blood that couldn’t come to his face.
A man screams, no longer seeming human.
The blue grass in the distance, wavering when it heard his howl.
A man screams, with no intentions.
The gray cliffside, now the color of his skin.
A man screams, scaring the heavens.
The hell far below him, heard his terror and laughed coarsely.
A man screams, his eyes bulging.
The land between the heavens and hell, undecided on what to think.
A man screams, his hands on his face.
The rushing waters below the bridge and above hell stood still.
