India is constitutionally the largest democracy on earth, as well as a secular country. However, the rise of Hindu nationalism has created some discomfort among those in the land who believe in religions other than Hinduism. The impact of societal polarization in India is usually contained within Indian boundaries; however, sometimes it spills over India’s foreign relations. This article aims to make an assessment of the impact of Hindu nationalism on Indian foreign policy conduct, with a special attention to the recent comments by the BJP’s spokeswoman regarding Prophet Mohammad.
Sir Lanka faces perhaps the greatest financial crises in the country’s history. Although such crisis is the outcome of much financial mismanagement, corruption, and lack of transparency in government, there are external factors involved as well. Due to its geo-strategic location, Sri Lanka much interests both China and India, who strongly compete for influence in the area. This article attempts to analyse the Sri Lankan crises from the perspective of a geopolitical struggle between China and India. It also focuses on providing information regarding the options for India in Sri Lanka.

The article also discusses China’s engagement in the region and what future awaits the SAARC after the Taliban Takeover.
India and Afghanistan share a long history of cultural and social linkages. Post-independence relations between India and Afghanistan were complicated by various power dynamics in the region. After 2001 India managed to have an amicable relationship with the Afghan government. However, after the Taliban took over, the future of India in Afghanistan has become uncertain. This article aims to discuss the implications for India of the newly emerging geopolitical scenario in Afghanistan.
The Gorkhas, a Nepali military community, have long been recruited by the Indian Army into its Gorkha regiments. Gorkha youth are keen to join the Indian Army since its perks and payments are superior to those of the Nepali Army. However, India’s new short-term military enlistment scheme, Agnipath, could alter this association. This brief discusses the impacts of the Agnipath scheme on military labour migration from Nepal to India, and on the larger bilateral relationship between the two countries.
