My research career focuses on the application of economic tools to cultural and sports economics, sustainable resource management—particularly in water—and, more recently, tourism economics. In recent years, I have explored topics such as the use of nudges to promote sustainable water practices, investigating gender differences in water demand, and analyzing the effectiveness of water-saving strategies in the hospitality sector. These topics reflect my interdisciplinary approach, combining insights from behavioral economics with environmental and water economics. Two of my recent publications are featured in the field of tourism: one in Current Issues in Tourism, which connects my research to both tourism and water management, and another in Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, exploring the intersection between behavioral economics and tourism. Most of my work on nudges in water management has been published in Water Resources and Economics, where I have also explored gender-related issues. In the field of cultural economics, I have contributed to understanding consumer behavior in the performing arts and cultural participation in Spain and across Europe, with a focus on gender, education, income, and price-related factors. Three of my articles have been featured in Journal of Cultural Economics and one in Economic Modelling. Through these diverse projects, I aim to advance knowledge in both the behavioral aspects of resource management and the economics of culture, while also bridging the gap between theory and practice in these areas.
