LSB Marketing Internship (Spring 2026)

During my internship with the Elon Love School of Business, I published two articles for Today at Elon.

Sales Week Prepares Students for Careers in Sales: I covered Elon’s Sales Week and its role in preparing students for careers in professional sales. I interviewed students, faculty, and organizers and researched the structure of the program to develop a well-rounded feature story. I also photographed events throughout the week and edited select images for publication within the article. The final piece highlighted hands-on learning opportunities and the career readiness skills students gained through the experience.

Elon Students Showcase Research at Issues in Political Economy Conference: For this feature story, I covered Elon students presenting their research at the Issues in Political Economy Conference. I conducted interviews with student presenters and faculty and worked to condense complex academic research into a clear, engaging narrative for a broader audience. A key focus of my reporting was translating technical and data-heavy information into accessible takeaways that highlighted the real-world relevance of the work. The final piece emphasized the value of undergraduate research while making it understandable and meaningful to the reader.

Duke Athletics Intern (Summer 2025)

During my internship with Duke Athletics, I wrote two feature stories highlighting the achievements and personalities of student-athletes, guiding each piece from start to finish — interviewing sources, drafting the narrative, and editing for clarity and tone.

In addition to these stories, I developed skills in research, content accuracy, and statistical record keeping by gathering information on athletes, teams, and records to support media guides and other communications materials. This experience strengthened my ability to craft compelling, detail-driven content that reflects and supports an organization’s brand and mission.

Research Methods (Fall 2024)

In a group, I completed a landscape analysis, survey project, and focus group on a topic of interest, with final reports for each initiative. For the survey project, I collaborated with my team to design objectives, thoughtful questions, and organized our workflow to stay on track with deadlines. I also worked to secure participation by explaining the project’s purpose and engaging peers. Across these projects, I developed skills in research design, data collection, written and verbal communication, and collaborative problem-solving.

Journalism in a Free Society (Fall 2024)

In my Journalism in a Free Society class, I produced a comprehensive news package on a congressional election, which included multimedia elements and timely reporting to inform the local community. This project reflected the skills I built throughout the course, where I also completed a research paper on a journalism controversy, multiple essays, and news stories in AP style. These experiences strengthened my reporting, research, and writing abilities, deepened my understanding of journalism’s role in a democracy, and sharpened my ability to deliver accurate, engaging content under deadline.

Strategic Writing (Summer 2024)

In Strategic Writing, I strengthened my skills in crafting professional materials like news releases, backgrounders, media advisories, and fact sheets, adhering to AP Style to maintain clarity and professionalism. I am confident in my ability to draft press releases, media lists, fact sheets, and editorial content that meet the specific needs of clients.

Media Writing (Spring 2023)

In my Media Writing class, I produced a press release for a dance marathon fundraising event supporting childhood cancer, applying research and AP style to craft a clear and compelling message. This project reflects the skills I developed throughout the course, including writing for print, broadcast, and online platforms, ensuring accuracy and proper attribution, and refining grammar and language. Through a variety of assignments, I strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and deliver polished, professional content.
