My name is Sarah Meche and I am a special education teacher in Louisiana! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education with an add-on certification in Special Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. After earning my degree, my career goal is to work as an Assistive Technology Strategist for a district where I would work to help link students with special needs to technology that could best compliment their learning style and help to maximize their learning.
I am currently on year 7 of my teaching career! I taught Resource English at Lafayette High School for 2 years and was a Combo Special Education teacher at Mire Elementary School for 3 years. I am currently a Combo Special Education teacher at Rayne High School, where I also have the role of cheer coach/sponsor.
Outside of school, I am married to my high school sweetheart and have two beautiful children; a four year old boy and a two year old girl.
In the future, I plan to go return to school to earn a Master's Degree in Special Education. Doing so would bring me one step closer towards my long term career goal, which would be to eventually use my knowledge and experience in both educational technology and special education to teach college courses in teaching learners with exceptionalities.
