PRESENTATIONS & FORMS
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of many of these files being official APSB Special Education presentations, forms, and documents, all files below are included as PDFs. However, each contains a description of how it was updated/created for actual use in our district.
This presentation was one of the two back to school presentations that get sent out to all Special Education teachers at the beginning of each new school year. The previous version was many years old and saved as a pdf and was a nightmare when anything needed to be added or edited. While most of the information presented stayed the same, I tried to give the presentation a much needed facelift! In doing so, I created It In google slides to make the editing process much easier from year to year. Being that the presentations I updated where created in google slides and my website Is a google site also allowed for me to upload the actual presentations in a way that would allow for real time editing and updating if any changes needed to be made.
This presentation took the longest to recreate, and unfortunately still is not totally complete. Like the previous back to school presentation, this one was also saved in PDF form, making editing it a nightmare. I recreated in google slides carrying over much of the same information, however, I recreated all of the IEP graphics included, as the others were many years old blurry when I tried to pull them over to the new slides. I also add in section headers and little graphics to help make visual connections. For example, the picture of the nurse on the health plan slide looks a lot like our SPED Nurse, Mrs. Wendy!
Unfortunately many of the IEP graphics that I recreated for these slides and much of the information put in reflect the previously used SER IEP platform and will most likely have to be updated again before the start of the school year when the newly updated ESER IEP platform rolls out on August 1st.
For this presentation, the facilitator who oversees all things concerning the April Dunn Act, requested that I take all of the Information that was In the April Dunn Act PDF published by the state and convert It to a google slides presentation that he could use to present at the back to school professional development days. Because last year he distributed a printed copy of the April Dunn Act PDF to all high school SPED teachers with a blue cover page, I stuck with the same color scheme to hopefully help people make a small mental connection. All links included in the original PDF are also linked in the new presentation, including the linked and fully functioning table of contents page to jump to each section.
For this presentation, the facilitator who oversees TS Gold wanted the updated presentation to hold the exact same information but do so in a way that was more visually appealing. In trying to keep with the presentation theme, yet wanting to strategically use the color gold or yellow because of the name, I had originally moved the presentation to a yellow version of this slide template from Slidesgo, but it was BRIGHT yellow and not easy on the eyes. So instead I let Mrs. Linda chose her color preference and transferred the information over.
This was an existing document that I converted into docx format and added functioning checkboxes for digital use.
At a facilitator's request, I converted from PDF file to a docx file that could be more easily edited. Reformatted document and updated cover page graphics.
This was an existing document that we are required to fill out yearly and keep up to date. It was provided only in PDF format and would not allow you to save changes so I recreated it in google sheets so that it could be edited at any time.

Originally thought up by J. LeJeune & A. Gatte of RHS, I've adapted it to meet our SPED Dept's needs and to be provided as an optional organizational tool. (Permission to do so was requested and granted)
This is an optional form that I created to be used as needed as a behavior tracking tool. This form was made to be printed but could also be done digitally.
This is an optional form that I created to be used as needed as a digital behavior tracking tool. This form in google sheets so that It could be shared with the student's teachers allowing them to input data each day.
The Information on this reference sheet was typed up by a facilitator, then I was asked to reformat it into an easy to read, printable, front and back document.
I proposed the idea of having an IEP checklist for submitting IEPs to be processed and in collaboration with one of the facilitators, we created these color coded cover sheets!

This Is an optional tool I created for teachers to create an "IEP Snapshot" of their students' IEPS.
