Career Goals

Eventually, I want to be in Real Estate and own properties, whether it be houses, apartment complexes, or both. Since IUPUI doesn't offer just a Real Estate major, I am majoring in Marketing with a co-major in Real Estate. I truly believe the marketing aspect will teach me many useful sales skills and how to market well to my audience.

My internship is beneficial to me in many ways. Most importantly, this internship helps me network with properties in my current living area. Eventually, I think the relationships I am building will help me in the future, whether I need something small like advice or something bigger like a partnership. This internship isn't the kind of job that I would want a career in. I am more of a hands on, interactive person, and this internship is very much just a desk job.

After I graduate, I don't plan to go to graduate school. My senior year of college I want to secure a Real Estate license, and then when I graduate I will be able to go into the field prepared. After holding a license for a couple years and gaining experience, I will be able to become a broker and start to have more of my own gig going.

Overall, in the future my goal is to be working for myself. I want to develop a name in Real Estate and be able to provide housing such as homes for families and even apartments for students. Personally, having a home or somewhere that feels like home is extremely important. I want to develop affordable apartments for students to have a home outside of home. I also look forward to helping families secure a beginning home or even a life-long home. I believe since I have a heart for making a place feel like home, I will be able to be genuine and authentic in my business with families/students when searching for or even developing a home for them. These relational characteristic and authenticity will set me apart from other competitors and help my company thrive.
