About Me

I am currently a sophomore at IUPUI. I am studying Marketing with a co-major in Real Estate. I grew an interest in Marketing and Real Estate through a job I had my first year of college. I was a leasing consultant for an apartment complex, but they allowed me to plan events and occasionally do other marketing aspects for the company. I grew to love the interaction with residents and I really enjoyed getting to know people in a more laid back way. Dealing with aspects of a property and also touching in some areas of marketing I quickly realized it is a job I grew to love and had a passion for.

I hold many skills that will help me succeed in this field. I can be an outgoing person when it is needed and I do well with communicating with others. I am an extremely determined person and can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I truly enjoy putting in the work to accomplish any goals at hand. This drive, determination, and my communication skills will help me do well standing out and accomplishing group tasks in future jobs and even stand alone accomplishing goals.

I have had many jobs growing up. I started working an official hourly paid job when I was 14, but before that, starting at about 12, I had many lawns that I mowed in the summer and driveways I shoveled in the winter. My first official job was a janitor for a church close to where I lived. It was the only job I could find at 14, but I was determined to start working and saving up for my goals and dreams. I later got a job at a local Dairy Queen, then about a year later started working at TJMaxx. These first few jobs helped me grow character. Each of those jobs didn't have the best management/leadership, but I pushed through to make the money to get closer to my goals. At 16 I started serving at Cracker Barrel. I still work there now, 4 years later. I have grown in communication skills, patience, and understanding. This job has allowed me to interact with many different people and deal with many different challenging scenarios. My first year of college I also held another job at the Lux on Capitol as a leasing consultant. The work environment grew to be a struggle and in other words toxic. I learned many amazing communication skills, marketing skills, and learned a lot about dealing with properties. After about a year of working there, I quickly realized even though this job has taught me many amazing skills, it wasn't helping me grow anymore professionally, mentally, or emotionally.

All of these jobs I have had have taught me many skills. Pushing through the harder jobs has shown me that I will push through what I need to accomplish my goals and dreams. I can be flexible with the environment and hard times if it means I will learn something that will get me closer to my dreams. Overall, these jobs throughout the years have shown me my determination, drive, and hard work and how it is unstoppable.
