I have served as the Executive Producer of WTHS for the past two years. After showing my dedication to the program my sophomore year, I was then offered the position my junior year and elected again as a senior. I personally feel that under my leadership, our program has not only grown as a show but as a team. I make sure to promote encouraging and uplifting behavior in order to create a productive end product. I believe that everyone has a spotlight, they just have to find it. My duties include proofing every show for upload, leading team brainstorm meetings, and making sure everyone understands their task for the week. I am also the main editor for the show.
My senior year, I was elected President of The Tupelo High School Quill and Scroll Honor Society. The previous year I had served as Vice president, so I was excited to take on the new role. So far under my leadership we have started social medias for our chapter, planned fundraising events for upcoming conventions, and contacted local Journalists to teach our staff how they can make it into the world of journalism.
My fellow teammate Meri Alan Wolfe and I were chosen as two students to represent Tupelo High School at the 2022 Leadership Summit. We presented a speech and a video, created by the WTHS staff, to superintendents and other education officials from across the state. It showcased the many opportunities that THS offers for its students. The conference was put in place to encourage other schools to implement programs such as the one we have in Tupelo. I was very honored to be chosen and represent my school.
Here is the video Meri Alan and I were in charge of. After our speech we presented this video to the room. Our Leadership team worked very hard on this project.
