Hello, My name is Sarah Buzzell. I am a senior at Tupelo High School and the Executive Producer for WTHS News. My path to Journalism began in middle school. When picking electives, I saw “Publications and Productions” and wanted to try it because of my love for making videos. There I learned the basics that set me up to fall in love with the process of reporting. I was introduced to the high school produced show “WTHS” and was determined to be a part of their team. I auditioned and joined my sophomore year. I spent this year learning exactly what it means to create a news broadcast, even with tough obstacles to overcome. I was mentored by the older students to then become Executive Producer my junior year. This was an honor that pushed me further into my dedication to broadcast. Also, being an artist helped me bring new and creative ideas to the show in order to set it apart from one's around us. I heard so many amazing stories from classmates and teachers and was excited to share them with the student body. This is one of my favorite parts of reporting: telling the public about stories they could've never known other wise. Everyone has a story.
I have gained so much experience from WTHS and continue to grow and learn from my peers. This class brings me the most joy and is always the best part of my day. Every semester, each new team we form becomes my family. We all work together to create amazing things and help each other succeed. Our class has been through a lot and with our strong teamwork have been able to over come it. Even though at first it was rocky, we learned each other's strengths and used those to improve our atmosphere completely. I am so proud to be a member of WTHS.
