April 17, 2026: Nathaniel Pyenta and Tioluwalope Rachel Abdul received first and second place, respectively, in the Three-Minute Thesis Competition at McMurry Symposium.

April 14, 2026: Ella McClung, Beth Shamayah Hawkins, and Riley Chloe Latongan received the Beasley Summer Research Award to conduct summer research in Dr. Kumar’s lab.

February 27, 2026: Santosh Kumar received MDPI travel award to attend Texas academy of science (TAS) conference. 

January 15, 2026: Santosh Kumar received Sam Taylor Fellowship to conduct his proposed research on engineering next generation enzymes.
