Congrats Lara!

Lara Jordan received Highest Honors for her thesis on the effects of weather on bird dawn chorus activity. She was also awarded the Clark Labs Excellence in GIS award. Great work Lara! 

May 2020. Tobey Chase '20 receives Highest Honors for her thesis: African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) fence breach patterns and habitat utilization: a case study in the Dinokeng Game Reserve, South Africa.  Well done Tobey!

August 2019. Aaron Menghini started his Ph.D. at the School of Forestry Resources, University of Maine. 

May 2019. Anika Berger'19 receives Clark Labs Excellence in GIS Award.

April 2019. Tobey Chase '20 receives Steinbrecher Fellowship to investigate the role of fences in human-elephant conflict in the Dinokeng Game Reserve in South Africa. The project integrates fieldwork in the reserve (in collaboration with Operation Wallacea scientists) with GIS-based habitat suitability analyses. The project has the potential to contribute to future conservation efforts in the Dinokeng Game Reserve.

April 2019. Carly Robins '18, '19 Received 2nd place in the Innovative Applications of Esri GIS Technology Poster Competition. Her work entitled ‘Warming’s Impact on Bird Distributions.‘ was part of her summer internship toward her Master of Science degree in GIS. Congrats Carly

May 2018. Carly Robbins'18 receives Clark Labs Excellence in GIS Award.

May 2017. Kate Markham (MA, ES&P' 17). Research Project: Evaluating Wildlife Vulnerability to Mercury Pollution From Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining in Madre de Dios, Peru. Kate started her Ph.D. at Boise State University

September 2015. Sean McCartney (MS, GISDE' 15). Research project: GAP analysis of hotspots of endemic diversity in the Dominican Republic. Sean received the DEVELOPers of the summer 2015 mention and he is now a research project lead for the NASA DEVELOP program.

May 2013. Liudmila Osipova (MS, ES&P ’13). Final Project Title: Conservation Network Assessment in Bolivia Under Future Climate and Land Cover Change. Liudmila is now a Ph.D. student in a joint doctorate program between Gottingen University, Germany, and Bangor University, UK (FONASO).

May 2012. Lori Johnson (MS, GISDE ’12). Thesis title: Predicting Core Reproductive Habitat for Wolverine (Gulo gulo) in Quebec, Canada Using a GIS-Based Deductive Modeling Approach. Lori is now a GIS Specialist at New England Environmental INC.

May 2010. Kate Doiron (MA, GISDE' 10). Research project: Avian species distribution model accuracy assessment using Global Biodiversity Information Facility data for North America (co-advisor). Kate is a Senior Associate at Industrial Economics Inc.
