"Imagine that your lawyer, your doctor, your priest, rabbi, or minister, your Senator and Representative, your

mayor, the president of your institution, most of its trustees, almost all of the deans and most of your

colleagues were all women. How would you feel? " Sandler, Bernice R., 1986

"Widespread acceptance of a stereotyping of scientists and engineers as

stolidly male from school to university level is likely to be

important. The dearth of senior women scientists in the

public arena means that girls have few role models with

whom to identify, and few female mentors to encourage them. "

Dr. Nancy Lane, Cambridge University, 1999

New!!  JEDI: Resources for Promoting

Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

These resources below show approaches on how to promote justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI).

Scientific studies show that the more diverse are teams and groups, the better the innovations, the brainstorming, the problem solving skills and conflict resolution. But in order for this to work, there's a need to develop a culture of inclusion, an environment where everybody feels that they are respected, they are heard and that their ideas and contributions are taken into account, a place where they don't need to fit in, but where they can thrive, their talents can be used and developed further. All society benefits when this is achieved, because we can tap into the talent pool of all demographics.Â
