Letter of a Woman follows Astou Toussa Gueye - a rapper turned farmer - on a motorcycle journey from her hometown near Dakar to northern Senegal, seeking her roots and traces of the last queen of Waalo, Ndate Yalla Mbodj. Through her inner dialogue with the queen and encounters with women today, she reflects on resistance, gender, colonial legacies, and connection to land—but will she find what she is looking for?

The short film was made as part of the film workshop project "Don't mess with my rights" between HAK Traun, Austria and Africulturban Pikine, Senegal.
