When human civilization was getting structured and communities and tribes started taking shape, humans started allocating chores amongst themselves. Back then human society comprised of Hunters and Gatherers, feeding the family was the responsibility of the “head” of the house, and was hence deemed as the toughest job. But the most difficult job that human or any other animal does, has not been given as much importance in society as it deserves. What is it? Raising an offspring.
Nature has given Women the power to give life to a new human. While taking care of herself and the child in her womb was a tough task already, she was also given the responsibility of taking care of the child after birth. This not only requires physical and psychological strength, but also demands highest levels of patience. Men always knew that raising a child is a much more laborious task than hunting. They somehow convinced women that hunting and getting food on the table is the tougher task than being at home and taking care of a toddler, and they will take the burden of going out and hunt. Women Agreed.
Fast forwarding it to 20th century, gatherers have become employees, and now there are many kind of jobs. But with the increase in competition, the cost of getting food on the table has increased too. Now it is not just about hunting and gathering - individuals have to work physically and mentally to get the job done. As time passed by, these jobs got harder for Men. So what happened? Reverse Psychology - by playing the card of Gender Equality, Men made Women go out and seek jobs as well.
Hence, at present, Women give birth to the child, Women raise them and Women feed them too. Men ?
