Research
CHEMINFORMATICS
We are interested in curating synthetically tractable virtual libraries consisting of drug-like small molecules.
We are also trying to understand the chemical space of antimicrobial agents
CADD and Synthesis
We design and synthesize small molecules to modulate the effect of different therapeutic targets. Specifically, we are interested in epigenetic targets such as histone methyltransferases (HKMTs). We are also designing hybrid molecules against P. falciparum and M. tuberculosis. We have recently started the design and synthesis of PROTACs against cancer.
Novel polymers
We are developing synthetic methodologies to produce novel polymers for diverse applications. These polymers can be obtained in one-pot under mild conditions. We have obtained several polymers decorated with cationic, anionic, and hydrophobic groups. Currently, evaluation of these polymers for drug delivery and antimicrobial applications are underway.
