This is a screengrab of a project I was working on in the fall of 2021. This project was to create a cat spay experience for Veterinary students in virtual reality. For this scene, the student is to set the surgery table height such that the elbow is angled at 90 degrees when working on the cat. This scene also test their knowledge of the cat anatomy. An assistant in the VR scene will ask the student to identify certain organs and the student is expected to point at the organ using the controller. On pointing, the controller will display the name of the object that is being pointed at using the line trace function in unreal.

This is my first exposure to Unreal Engine and designing anything interaction and game and I was able to make some progress despite the technical challenges I had due to computer glitches. I learnt a lot about cats, veterinary medicine, virtual reality and Unreal. My time on this project spurred my interest in taking a game design class. You can follow for my progress in game design.

The cat anatomy, the surgery table and the instrument table was modelled by Ali Ennis, the Clinic hospital room was purchased in the Unreal marketplace and the wait room (not shown in this video) is Neusa Frois by SrMonteiro on Sketchfab.
