The purpose of the Mobile Technology Project was to compare the differences between mobile technology and the usage of computer technology.
For this project, simply answer the questions below. Feel free to research anything you need to. Just be sure to copy and paste the URL in the research section below.
{The make and model of my phone is the Iphone 11 Pro Max.}
{My phone is currently running IOS 14.4}
{The security features I have turned on are Face ID and a four-digit pin.}
{Yes, my phone is connected to the cloud. The reason why is because since my phone only has 64 GB of storage, I use the cloud to store other documents, files, photos, and videos. The cloud allows me to buy more storage that I cannot add on to my phone.}
{My phone has 64 GB of storage. I have currently used 50.2 Gb of my phone’s storage.}
{Yes, I normally connect to WiFi on my phone. My Internet service provides me with fast upload and download speeds. I believe 300 Mbps+ for both (when there are not many devices connected to the WiFi). That is much faster than the internet my phone has.}
{My phone is currently right next to my laptop as I write this.}
{If my phone is not in the same room as me, I tend to look for it, so I know that it is next to me.}
{Yes, I do take my phone with me to the bathroom. I take my phone with me to play music for when I shower, or I use it when I am sitting on the toilet.}
{I can put my phone away for more than an hour when it comes to concentrating on something else. I recently did it while I was working on my math homework. Since I like to work things out on a piece of paper, I try to take my time with it and not get distracted with my phone. When it comes to needing calculations I either solve it out on the paper or use my computer’s calculator.}
{The apps I would say that I use the most are Sling (to watch soccer games), Netflix, Instagram, and Youtube.}
{The apps that I run often on my laptop includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Teams, Files, Mail, and calculator.}
{When it comes to doing tasks there are quite a few that I need to do on my laptop from doing research for my assignments, writing papers, doing homework, and surfing the web. On the other hand, there are certain things that I just prefer to use my phone for. Communication is a major task because its just so much easier through a phone than a laptop. A phone allows you portability and ease of access all the time. Another task that I prefer to do on my phone is take photos and watch soccer games. The quality on my phone is better so I get to enjoy it more.}
{If phones were to disappear, my computer usage would go up by a good 300%. From going through social media, going on Youtube, Sling, and communicating with others, it will all have to be on my laptop now. However, from going from my phone to my laptop I am going to need a portable source of Wifi so I could use my laptop to its full extent.}
{If I did not have access to my phone and I needed to get somewhere I’d start off by going to a store that I already know how to get there. I will see if they sell any maps or I can ask anybody there how I could get to me desired location. It may not be easy at first, but I will keep asking around until I eventually get to where I need to be.}
{The operating system of my laptop is Windows 10.}
{ I believe that my computer has 119 GB of hard drive space.}
{My laptop connects to the internet through a wireless internet connection (WiFi if I’m correct). I have a wireless router, so I don’t need a ethernet cable to connect to the internet.}
{After doing the speed test, I ended up with 13.7 Mbps download and 52 Mbps upload. There is a latency of 12 ms.}

The Mobile Technology project allowed me to go in depth about my phone usage and how it compared to my computer usage. I realized that I would use my phone for a lot of things like communicating with other, social media, entertainment, etc. I would only find myself using my computer for school purposes, and it made me think how a few years ago the usage of these two devices were flipped.
