The Samsung Galaxy Note series is a discontinued[1] line of high-end flagship Android phablets and smartphones developed and marketed by Samsung Electronics. The line is primarily oriented towards pen computing; all Galaxy Note models shipped with a stylus pen, called the S Pen, and incorporate a pressure-sensitive Wacom digitizer. All Galaxy Note models also include software features that are oriented towards the stylus and the devices' large screens, such as note-taking, digital scrapbooking apps, tooltips, and split-screen multitasking. The line served as Samsung's flagship smartphone model, positioned above the Galaxy S series.

The Galaxy Note 5 was announced on 13 August 2015. It is based upon the specifications, hardware and exterior design of the Galaxy S6, including its metal frame and glass backing, but with a larger 5.7-inch 1440p display, Exynos 7 Octa 7420 system-on-chip, as well as a new spring-loaded stylus slot. As with the S6 and unlike previous Note models, the Note 5 does not offer a user-replaceable battery or expandable storage. Other removed features include support for Mobile High-Definition Link, a third microphone, and an infrared transmitter.[18][19][20][21] The new "Screen off memo" feature allows the phone to be awoken directly to a note screen when the stylus is removed,[18] and the camera app allows public and private livestreaming directly to YouTube.[18]

I have a Samsung galaxy note 9plus. I am trying to edit some pictures but when I click on the little pencil to go to the edit screen it wont let me. It just says "to use this feature, you need to allow permission in settings." When I go to settings and then the apps I went to the gallery app to make sure the permission was on, and it is. So at this point im not to sure what or where it is to allow me to start editing and cropping my photos. Does anyone have an idea on what the issue could be?

Om having the same issue. I get around 4 hours too. When I just got it. Screen on time was 7/8 hours. But with every update it is 1 hour less. It's normal behavior for a Samsung phone though. Samsung builds this "feature" in its software for flagships to render these devices useless after 2 years, so that you must buy a new one. The biggest drop in battery performance you will notice after receiving updates close to the releases of new flagships. My battery performance dropped tremendously when the s10 was released. It will do so again when the note 10 will be announced and again when it is released. You have to deal with this or buy another brand. This is Samsung's way of pushing people to their new phones. They say the battery will degrade or that an app is running in the background causing it. But I know better by now. After loads of complaints with the gear s3 which had the same problem they pushed an update to my 2 year old gear s3 which all of a sudden lasted a day longer on a charge. I had a note 2, s6 s7 and note 9 all having the same issue. Update after update the battery went worse and worse. On release its awesome and lasts 2 days after a year you are happy to get through a day. After 2 years you will get around 14 hours. My note 9 has been charged once every 2 days. After 9 months that is around 135 cycles out of 1000 a normal lithium battery can take. And already it lost 50% of its capacity... and no one thinks that is strange?

We also expanded our low-light testing and created the new Night sub-score, which incorporates the previous Flash score. We have retested this device using the new Wide and Night test protocols and updated the scores in this review, but we have not changed the text from the original review. For more information, please see the articles about our new Wide and Night test protocols.

You can also choose to have a new note open automatically when you pop out your S Pen or when you press the S Pen button. You can make these time-saving customizations in your settings menu under Advanced Features > S Pen.

If you prefer to keep your notes on one long canvas, rather than individual pages, you can do that, too. Go to the Samsung Notes settings and tap Page style and template. Then select Infinite scrolling page.

Need to suggest some changes or make enhancements on an image or PDF? You can import it to Samsung Notes, and annotate it directly within the app. Just tap the paperclip icon and add notes right on the content.

This import feature makes it easy to add notes to PDFs. If someone on your team sends you a PDF of survey data, for example, you can open the PDF in Samsung Notes, add feedback with your S Pen, save and send it right back.

I encountered the Authentication Error problem in Samsung Galaxy Note. The device cannot sync with the changes on the PC. I power off the device and turned off the Internet connection and restated them again. Again I noted that the device still showed Authentication Error. Then suddenly a new downloaded screen appeared on the Samsung Galaxy Note. Then I realized that I had changed my Evernote password on the PC !!! Entered the new password on the device and everything was OK.

I updated my Samsung Galaxy Note a few weeks ago and ever since it has changed the way evernote works. The done button moved to below the text and covers italic and underline icons. When I go to try to highlight text in order to change the text to bold or underline or copy & paste the tab does not show those options anymore. How can I fix this?

Anyone using Evernote on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet? I did a forum search for "galaxy note 10.1" and was surprised to find no hits. It would seem to me that the integral wacom stylus feature of this tablet would make it an ideal evernote device. I know that previous tablets, like the HTC Flyer, had specific hooks for evernote.

I got a Note 10.1 last Thursday. It is excellent. I am trying to figure out the best way to use Evernote on it. Skitch does not seem to work well for handwriting. Still trying to figure out the best way to incorporate evernote with my hand written notes.

Hey guys, any luck so far? Ive got one too... the writing is a pleasure but SNote upload to evernote is a horror. It uploads attachments just as my galaxy note phone did (does). This tihng isn't going to work out for me at all if I cannot upload my handwriting in image format to be OCRd by Evernote servers. The writing feels great. So much potential here.

I've still not received my "Note" and I have yet to use any android devices so I can't speak to the programs available, but are there any PDF annotation programs within which you could create handwritten notes and then export the PDF to evernote?

I looked at the Galaxy Note Tablet. It is a pretty cool device. I currenlty have an HTC Flyer that has the stylus and use it for taking my notes for work. This has the sync with Evernote which is very valuable.

Does anyone know if split-screen multi-tasking is supported by Evernote on the Galaxy Note? I'd love to be able to watch a video and take notes on it at the same time, and if Evernote works for this, I may go with the Note 10.1 > Transformer Prime.

After playing with this thing for a few days, it has become evident that it could be a KILLER piece of hardware if the right apps come along. I have been looking at two: "Lecture Notes" and "Quill". "Lecture Notes" seems to be the one I'd choose as far as functionality + ease of use, but they both are lacking with their Evernote integration. I am going to write a letter to the devs... such a nice program, but the notebooks dont sync with your Evernote notebooks (sends the pages to default book), and if you modify one instead of modifying the evernote "note", it sends up entirely brand new pages...ugh

I received my 10.1 note yesterday and have been playing with it quite a bit....this was my first android device so some of the time I've spent getting used to the android / touchwiz interface. First off, the stylus response is excellent. It tracks input very accurately with little lag. My main purpose for the device is note taking / meeting handout markup. I've used the included S-note, Lecture Notes, and Quill programs and in my extremely limited trials found Quill to be the best in terms of handwriting (I like the fact that the pen strokes are saved as vectors and not bitmaps). I have not yet tried any annotation/markup programs so can't offer an opinion on that front. 006ab0faaa
