August 2021 - December 2021
As the first intern for the Indiana Health Fund, I was able to start on new social media accounts to gain more followers and views. I also was able to communicate with the public using medical terminology in a way for the community to understand. This internship taught me how to use medical terminology and create content that was created and coordinated with organizational leadership. I helped create new ideas for the next set of interns to continue to grow the organization, such as creating more fundraisers or events.

Since I am in the first set of ambassadors for Fairbanks School of Public Health, I have had many exciting opportunities that have helped me develop professional experience. As an ambassador, I create original content to engage and inform the community such as staff, incoming students, and current students. I have assisted with virtual and in-person outreach and recruitment events. I present on the student experience and have served as a speaker for new student orientation. I have enjoyed being the first set of ambassadors because we have created change and worked together to inspire future sets of ambassadors. This experience has given me the chance to learn more about marketing and public health.

Working as a Beauty and Jewelry Associate at Kohl's was a fun experience. I was able to provide excellent customer service to find what they were looking for. I had to follow charts and sort out makeup to follow the organization documents. I was able to help open new merchandise and work as a team to unload the truck. I also cleaned and sanitized my work areas to follow COVID-19 protocols. I worked in a fast-paced environment to ensure that customers were satisfied. This experience taught me how to take charge of new tasks and to be more customer orientated.

In my time on the executive board, I have had the chance to collaborate with 7 lovely individuals. I hold two positions on the executive board, they are senator and marketing/PR. We have worked together to create meetings or events such as volunteer, social, and professional events. I have developed social media content to promote events and participation for UGSA. I have learned how to work as a team, create fun activities for students, use communication skills, and be an advocate for IUPUI students.
