From Left to Right: Jimmy Tran, Amber Bick, Wendy Trattner, Lydia Light, Maya Nielan, Alex Salisbury.
We're team of Course 2 juniors, all coming from different backgrounds, but coming together to make a dope Yo-Yo. Literally.
Jimmy is a course 2 junior, who is minoring in Energy Studies. He's a gamer who likes making weird, random things. He's a mechanical engineer because he breaks a lot of his stuff and wants to learn how to fix it. As a part of ProjX and MIT MakeMrworks, he encourages people to take on passion projects!
Amber is specifically excited about Design and Manufacturing. She enjoys learning about various methods for producing the same product. Beyond classes she is involved with dorm government, Challah for Hunger, and the Alpine Ski Team.
Wendy is excited to apply what she learns in 2.008 to make products more sustainable. She's currently a Design for America sustainability project lead, a member of Lean0nMe, and a UROP student in CSAIL's Distributed Robotics Lab. She likes to rock climb, paint, write poetry, and meet new people.
Lydia is interested in product design, biomechanics, and robotics. Her interest in mechanical engineering stems from her early childhood dream of being an inventor and a life-long love of building things and understanding how they work. In her free time she enjoys playing hockey on the MIT Women's Team, singing in choir, and rock climbing, and cooking with friends.
Maya is a course 2A-PD, minor 6 junior interested in the intersection of computers, physical products, and design. Outside of school, she is on the women's soccer team and in Alpha Phi. She also likes warm weather, dogs, cooking, art, rollerblading and the beach.
Alexander is design focused mechanical engineering student who strives for innovation and creative work in the future. He has spent a fair amount of time of his younger years building his leadership, communication skills, and ethics. In his free time he practices the visual arts and regular exercise.
