Rates & billing

RATES

Salishan Sanitary District bills customers on a quarterly basis. Individual property owners connected to the sewer system are billed at a rate of $213.75 per quarter., effective July 1, 2025. Larger and consolidated properties are billed quarterly but on an individually developed rate based on water sewage volumes.

The Sanitary District has been  funded strictly on these user fees and does not rely on property tax assessments nor does it have any outstanding bond issues. There have not been any one time user assessments in its history.  However, this does not preclude this from the future depending on the status of the plant and equipment.

BILLING

We currently email or mail our quarterly bills depending on customer preference.  However emailing is a administrative and cost savings to the District and more convenient for you.  Please let us know to convert your billing to electronic by sending an email message to salishan.sanitary@gmail.com with the correct email address.

PAYMENT

Only checks are acceptable payment for our quarterly bills. At this time, we have not found an electronics payment application that can affordably handle our smaller volumes nor are we able to accept credit card payments.

However, many of our customers have utilized their online banking account bill payment systems for automatic payment of Salishan Sanitary District bills.  Since the quarterly amounts do not change,  you can set it up one time and be sure it is paid on time.

FEES

Salishan Sanitary District incurs a number of administrative costs for which it is appropriate or necessary to charge a reasonable fee to recover costs of such services 

Description Amount

Returned check charge $25 plus bank fees

Late Fee 1.5% apr of invoice or unpaid partial amount or $20 whichever is                                                            greater.

 Applies to quarterly invoices at 75th day and monthly invoices at  50th  day past invoice date

Collection letter $100

Lien filing and removal $100 for filing lien and $100 for removal of lien plus Lincoln                                                                     County filing fees
