Project Ideas (but best to ask students what they want to create):

• Create a news broadcast and weather forecast about the salamander migration (see this great example!)
• Creata a website about salamanders and local crossing sites
• Conduct an interview/ podcast with a local scientist about amphibian migration
• Create infographics about salamander migration, threats, range and life cycle
• Make a guidebook of all the amphibians found in your area
• Create a mural or work of art for the school community inspired by the illustrations in Salamander Sky
• Produce TedTalks about what you learned about the power of local habitats/animal species
• Direct a video about a local habitat/species you care about
• Create a magazine or website about a local habitat that is important to you
• Make a Thinglink or a map of a local habitat for others to use
• Create a fundraiser for an organization that helps promote conservation of local, state and national habitats and vulnerable species
• Write a scene for publication: What happens next in the story?
• Create a skit or performance of Salamander Sky for other students and show the book's message.
• Create a book trailer for the prequel or sequel to Salamander Sky. Show it at a film festival and invite the whole community!
