Culminating Event: Sharing student projects with a wider audience is a key part of project based learning. This is challenge in a remote environment, but not impossible.

Here are some ideas for who to share projects with that promotes relevance, motivation and engagement:

  • Community habitat tours: students could share their projects and videos about local habitats with town clerk, so they can be added to the town website.
  • Film festival: invite school board members, the community, and local Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, and other groups to view student videos and presentations. These could be shared on a padlet, slide show, or Google Site.
  • Presentation to local town council, boards, or organizations: have student groups make community presentations on Zoom or Google Hangouts about the importance of local habitats and vulnerable species to small, special interest community groups.
  • Salamander Party and Learning Fair: have students invite the school community to a virtual fair where students share their projects.
