"Animals cannot understand our language; neither can birds, only human beings have the privilege to understand each other’s language and emotions. If even after being privileged we aren’t helping each other we would be best compared to animals. The society has given us so much, then why can’t we repay them back.”

Humanity isn’t the slave of mercy rather it belongs to kindness and a strong feeling of compassion. At Saksham NGO we work for the upliftment of down-trodden class of the society, we never make them compromise with their dignity. Everybody is treated as same and equal and is taught about their basic living rights. We dream of building a society free from the curses of illiteracy, unemployment, malnutrition, crime and all the evils associated with poverty. Our mission is to empower the whole generation with the enlightenment of literacy which can break the jinx of being underprivileged. India being the second most populated country of the world has more than half its population living under the poverty line where they can’t even earn their bread and butter properly. Overburdened with huge debts these families are compelled to send their children for working in harsh unorganized sectors at the age of their schooling, thus weakening their base to build upon their future. This phenomenon restricts their lifetime career as well as personal growth. They aren’t just confined to earn less but also develop a retrogressive approach towards their family. And this curse is then passed on from one generation to other, thus spoiling several generations.

At Saksham we endeavour to target and eradicate this huge problem from its roots i.e. illiteracy. We have designed several educating programs, which varies from conducting regular basic learning classes to special classes on health & hygiene. We also help these children develop an analytical mindset by assigning several challenging tasks to them. Apart from that regular health camps and outing has been arranged for them to be physically fit.

Another important aspect of Our NGO is to work for the upliftment of women. Specialised literary classes are organised for them on a daily basis. Quarterly psychological analysis is being done with monthly counselling sessions to help them build a strong determination towards their education. We feel extremely satisfied by seeing them grow day by day. After all these women would become the basis of spreading literacy in the whole society. A literate woman aware of the virtues of education motivates their children to be literate and thus can be the pivotal basis of the upliftment of the whole society.
