Biography
Currently, Md Saklain Morshed is a 2nd year PhD student at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus in Solid State Electronics and Photonics. He is particularly working on wide-bandgap advanced electronic devices for high-power radio frequency applications under the supervision of Dr. Siddharth Rajan.
Earlier, He successfully earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics Major from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in May, 2022. Immediately after completing his undergraduate studies, he decided to pursue his M.Sc degree with specialization in Electronics and Photonics from the same esteemed institution, with an expected completion date of December 2023.
As a profession, Mr. Morshed embarked on his teaching journey driven by a deep passion for the profession. He commenced his career in academia as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) in September, 2022. Later he has severed as a departmental program coordinator of EEE along with his teaching role, where he had developed a completely dynamic course offer and automated routine for faculty and students and published that as a website for the EEE dept.. He was the awardee of the Faculty Frontiers Award in automation and dynamic fields from GUB.
Saklain started his journey with optoelectronics-based research under the supervision of Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam , on perovskite-based solar cell analysis and defended his undergraduate thesis titled, “Design Optimization and Simulation of Highly Efficient Perovskite /Si Tandem Solar Cell.” He is an active member in Solid-state Electronics and Photonics (SSEP) group lead by Dr. Md Zunaid Baten. Saklain worked there in nanowire-based architecture's application in photovoltaics and photoconductive applications. He was also an executive member of Optoelectronics and Photonics Research Cell at the Green University of Bangladesh.

[Jan'26]- GDS Update: I have automated the gds file of the HBT. Now using the Ruby code the k-layout can be made with variation of hundreds of variables with a single code. [Contact me for details].
[Nov'25]- MBE Update: I have also automated the grading process for GaN to AlGaN layers. Now the system can automatically change the the temperature and ramp rate in real time to create linear, hyperbolic, or any other grading profile— as long as I provide the trend equation. Anyone can implement this code to make any doping profile (linear, hyperbolic, etc.) in spite of just constant doping as well. [Contact me for details]
[Nov'25]- MBE Update: I've completely automated the flux calibration. The programmed system can now perform the flux calibration for a given cell with a range of cell temperatures entirely by itself without any human interaction. Using statistical regression, it can extract the exponential trend and automatically calculate the coefficients. [Contact me for details]
[Oct'25]- Academkc Update: I've passed my PhD qualifying exam which was scheduled on October 28.

[Sept 25]- MBE Update: In Rajan group, the nitride MBE is being used since 2008. I'm the first who has used the Molly language here in Rajan Group to operate the Nitride MBE. [Contact me for details]
[Sept'25]- CV Characterization: For C-V measurements, I proposed and validated an etch-free single-metal C-V profilometry method for our growers, reducing processing time by nearly 10 hours. While the standard process requires three lithography steps, one etch, and two metal depositions(ohmic and schottkey), my method uses only one lithography and one metal deposition, achieving accurate C-V results. This approach is inspired by the Mercury probe technique. [Contact me for details]

My solo authored paper titled, "Dimension Dependent Optical Behavior of GaN Across 0D, 1D, 2D, and 3D Structures", has been accepted in for ORAL presentation at the 2023 6th IEEE International Conference on Electrical Information and Communication Technology (EICT 2023)
Another solo work titled, "Consistency of Peak Wavelength with Higher Absorption of GaN Nanowire Arrays: Independency on Filling Fraction" got acceptance from the "5th IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP) 2023"
A collaborative work, "A Thorough Probe into Enhancing Energy Harvesting via Piezo-Modules in Metrorail Stations" has been accepted for presentation at the 10th IEEE International Conference on Power Systems (ICPS) 2023
I've secured a back to back perfect GPA 4.00/4.00 in my M.Sc. last semester
In my second semester I've obtained 4.00 GPA out of 4.00 in M.Sc.
I've prepared and published a complete dynamic course offer and routine for faculty and student routine website for EEE dept. in Green University of Bangladesh. Thus department has awarded me as a Faculty Frontiers Award in automation and dynamic field.
I've presented our new proposed curriculum for upcoming semesters for EEE department in Faculty of Science meeting.
Designated as a departmental Program Coordinator of EEE dept. in GUB.
