Lincoln Douglas: Competitive Value Debate works to sharpen critical thinking & public speaking skills. LD Value is often considered the next step after Team Policy. Thinking skills are more syllogistic and based in philosophy. 

Team policy: Participation in competitive Team Policy debate teaches students advanced critical thinking, research, and speaking skills. Students compete with a partner and spend the fall semester researching the resolution, writing their cases, and learning the structure of team policy debate. In the spring, students continue researching cases and writing briefs, while also debating in the club and at the NCFCA tournaments.
