TiHAN - Advanced Drone Innovations
TiHAN - Advanced Drone Innovations
Nearly 60 hours spanning over 20 lectures and 3 days of hands on sessions, this course offered by TiHAN (Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation) embarked on a comprehensive journey through the world of drones at IIT Hyderabad. From fundamentals to advanced applications, this course offered hands-on learning, explored aerodynamics, AI integration, programming, and entrepreneurial insights to launch drone ventures successfully.
Day 1
On the inaugural day, the participants engaged in assembling drone components and integration, an essential step in mastering drone technology. Unfortunately, I was unable to join due to academic commitments. 😄🔫
I caught up from the second day...
Day 2:
Well as luck would have it, the team that I was assigned to had made a few mistakes while assembling their drone and a few electrical parts were faulty (not so fortunate for them...). So, I had the chance to go through the assembly process all over again albeit on a slightly faster pace.
We were also taught how to use Mission Planner, a ground control station for copters and rovers. Mission Planner can be used as a configuration utility or as a dynamic control supplement for autonomous vehicles.
Day 3:
The day started at the TiHAN testbeds. Photography is prohibited in the area. We were shown around a plethora of innovations. One Toyota car was retrofitted with LiDAR cameras. There were autonomous vehicles and a drone with a payload of around 60 kgs as far as I remember.
The drones we assembled were made part of a drone swarm and we were taught how to fly the drones as well.
The day ended with the startup discussions and proposals (and the certificate distribution of course...!).
