I've done drawing, painting, crafts, and photography. Below are a few samples of my work.
Based on my computer-generated vector graphic of a panda bear with fairy wings. I live in the Washington, DC area and I was inspired to create this character after the National Zoo received two new panda bears to live there. In addition, I created this character shortly before the annual Greenbelt Green Man Festival, which is a nature fairy-themed festival that is held in Greenbelt, Maryland.
Based on the logo I designed for Sagittarius Dolly.
I took this picture of Shaymar Higgs, the founder of The Space "Free Art For All" Â in Greenbelt, Maryland, showing his young friend Ariyah the future of technology in 2024. I entered this photo in the annual Greenbelt Labor Day Art Show where it won first prize in the "Memories of Greenbelt" category.
I took a photo of my late pet hedgehog, Spike, sniffing a multicolor rose that I purchased from Wegmans in 2012. I entered this photo in the annual 2012 Greenbelt Photo Show that was held as part of the annual Greenbelt Labor Day Festival. I won a ribbon at that show.
I did this acrylic painting based on a picture I shot of my in-laws' dog, Jay-Jay during a visit to their home in Tempe, Arizona. Jay-Jay was a typical dog in that he would flash the saddest eyes if you were eating something that he wanted. I later gave that painting to my in-laws about a month before my mother-in-law's sudden death from a stroke in 2010.
I did this acrylic painting based on a photo I shot during a visit to Clark's Elioak Farm in Ellicott City, Maryland. These goats would frequently push their heads beyond the fence in an effort to eat as much grass as possible.
I did this acrylic painting of two sunflowers (including a bee who landed on one of them) based on a photo that I shot.
I crocheted this pink elephant amigurumi. I also included a tiny bottle of Delirium Tremems, a brand of Belgian beer whose logo includes a pink elephant. I took a tiny bottle of vodka that I purchased from a liquor store and drained it of the liquid. Then I covered the bottle using air drying Makin's Clay. I printed out a tiny label based on the Delirium Tremens bottle and glued it on. Then I used glitter acrylic paint to simulate the foil that can be found on the top of each bottle.
I did this watercolor at a free koi fish watercolor workshop that was held in Greenbelt, Maryland in 2025.
I did this painted pumpkin based on one of Vincent Van Gogh's self portraits during the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 as an entry in a Halloween pumpkin decorating contest that was sponsored by Lidl. The winning prize was a Lidl gift card where one could use to get free groceries from Lidl. I didn't win.
I did a pencil sketch of this model at a drawing event that was held at National Harbor (located near Oxon Hill, Maryland). This event was sponsored by Art Whino.
I did this drawing at an event that was held at the Stone Branch School of Art in Rockville, Maryland in 2017. This event featured models who cosplayed as various fantasy and superhero characters.
I did this pencil drawing during a drawing workshop that was held at the 2012 Artomatic in Crystal City, Virginia. As part of the workshop the participants went around the various parts of Artomatic to find someone or something to draw. I found this band that was playing live music and it included this man who was flipping his long dreadlocks around while he was playing his bass.
In 2016 I attended a free drawing event that was held at the historic Riversdale Manion in Riverdale Park, Maryland. I drew this statue of the Greek goddess Hebe that was on display near one of the stairwells in the mansion.
I did this stylized pencil drawing of a blue jay based on a book I found on how to draw birds in a stylized manner that was at the old Greenbelt Makerspace in Greenbelt, Maryland in 2016.
Back in the 1990s I took a cartooning class at Glen Echo Park that was offered through Glen Echo's art program. I did this black and white ink drawing during that time.
I did this ink drawing in 2020 based on the photographs of devastating wildfires that struck Australia. The fires were so intense that the sky literally turned orange and I saw images of people and animals that were in silhouettes because of the fires. I initially thought that the pictures looked unusually pretty but then I read reports that more than one billion animals had perished in these fires. One billion animals! It was just staggering! This drawing was my tribute to those animals who perished in those wildfires.
In late 2019 I worked as an enumerator for the Census Bureau during the preliminary phase of the 2020 Census. I was sent to Cobb Island, Maryland as part of my work. I took a few photos of the area because it really looked very photogenic. I did this ink drawing of a bunch of docked boats on Cobb Island based on one of my photographs.
I first met Jolene Sugarbaker when we both participated in Artomatic back in 2012 and we later became Facebook friends. She hosts the popular YouTube channel The Trailer Park Cooking Show. I did this ink drawing based on one of her photographs that she posted online.
I did this still life ink drawing during a drawing class that I took at Prince George's Community College in the early 2000s.
I did this ink drawing at The Space "Free Art For All" in 2024 using the free provided art supplies that the nonprofit organization provided.
My then-husband and I went to his step-father's family reunion that was held at Estes Park, Colorado back in the early 2000's. We stayed in a cabin with his mother, step-father, and sister. The cabin provided a lovely view of the Rocky Mountains. I took a photograph and I did a black and white ink drawing of that same window. When I took a painting class at Prince George's Community College back in 2005 I used one of my photographs from my Estes Park trip to create this acrylic painting. I later entered it in the 2005 Greenbelt Labor Day Arts Festival where it won Third Place in the "Best Painting" category.
